Radiocarbon Dates

Great news on the radiocarbon dating front. We have medieval rural settlements on North Loch Tayside! In fact we have a nice group of dates ranging from the late-neolithic right through to the later historic period and including later medieval (13th, 14th and 16th century structures), as well as some Iron Age sites. The dates are as follows:

Tombreck Homestead (Trench 15) - 260-50BC
Kiltyrie Turf Range (Trench 16) - 1300-1440AD
Kiltyrie Turf Building (Trench 17) - 1190-1300AD
Meall Greig Hearth and Lithic deposit (Trench 9) - 2790-2570BC
Blarmore Laird's House (Trench 2) - 1440-1640AD

This is obviously great news to have as we begin to consider where we would like to excavate in 2005.
