Between 2002 and 2005, pupils from three local primary schools and the local secondary school took part in a pilot scheme devised by the NTS regional archaeologist and regional education officer. They worked with NTS staff and also archaeologists from Glasgow University Archaeological Research Division (GUARD). In 2005, the primary schools also worked with researchers from Edinburgh and Aberdeen universities. The results of the pilot scheme has led to a web-based pack (microsite) called Archaeology for Schools. Check it out at www.ntseducation.org.uk [External Link].
